Help and messaging the team

Open Help from the header or from Help and feedback in the account menu.

Help inside a book

In a book, select the question-mark button at the top right, Help, or choose Help and feedback in your account menu at the bottom of the navigation panel, or Navigation help in the timeline's More timeline filters menu. A new Book Guide conversation also links to help about it, and when you ask the Book Guide how to use ManyNote, its answer offers Ask ManyNote Help with your question filled in. Help opens beside the page where the Book Guide usually is, so you keep your place, and it knows which book you are in and how you have it set up. Select Book Guide at the top of Help to return to the Book Guide, or the question-mark button again to close Help. The Help links at the bottom of Settings (opened with Aa) and What are these? in the timeline's More timeline filters menu open Help about that feature.

When something goes wrong, such as a Book Guide answer that fails or a page that will not load, choose Report this problem. Help opens with the problem attached: ask what it means, or, signed in, send it to the team with the message already filled in. If your changes are not syncing, the bottom of the navigation panel says so, such as Waiting to sync; choose Report next to it. Once everything is synced, nothing is shown there. If a book cannot open at all, choose Get help on the error page. If any other page fails to load, its error page offers Try again and Report a problem, which opens Help with the problem and page attached.

Help with marks in a mark's options and the help links at the top of Settings open the matching help pages.

In the iOS app, Help opens beside the book in the same way, and signed-in readers can message the team from it. The Help pages themselves are on the website.

Ask ManyNote Help

ManyNote Help answers questions about using the app from these help pages. It is free, for guests too, and each answer links the help pages it used. Very heavy use is briefly rate limited. For questions about a book's story or characters, use the Book Guide inside that book.

Your Help conversation continues where you left off, on the Help page or in a book, on this browser. Choose New help conversation to start fresh. Use the thumbs under an answer to say whether it helped; it shows us which help pages to improve.

Message the team

When ManyNote Help cannot solve something, it may offer Send to the team under its answer, with a message already written from your conversation. Check it, change anything you like, and send it.

Signed-in readers can also choose Message the team, pick what it is about (Account or sign-in, Billing, Something is broken, Feedback or idea, Something else), write a message and choose Send to the team. You can attach your help conversation so the team sees everything you already tried. ManyNote records the page you came from to help diagnose problems.

The team's reply appears in Your messages on the Help page, and you get an email when it arrives. A message shows With the team until they answer, The team replied when it is your turn, and Resolved once it is settled. Choose Reply to answer, or Reopen with a reply on a resolved message. You can send up to 20 messages and replies a day. Do not include card numbers or passwords.
