Uploading your own EPUBs
Signed-in readers can add EPUB files they own. Choose Add EPUB in My Books; as a guest, it asks you to sign in or create an account first. To bring back an upload you removed, open the menu beside it and choose the book under Restore a removed upload.
Limits
- EPUB files only (the name must end in .epub), up to 512 MB.
- 10 uploads over the life of your account. My Books shows N of 10 uploads used. Cancelled or failed transfers do not count; removing a book does not give an upload back.
- One upload at a time.
Progress
Uploading N% shows the transfer. Keep the page open until it finishes, or choose Cancel upload. Then Adding to My Books prepares the book; you can keep reading meanwhile. When it is ready, the book appears marked Just added.
If it fails
- Could not upload this book: the transfer failed. Choose Try again.
- Upload not finished: upload the file again.
- Could not add this book: the EPUB could not be prepared for reading. Try again, or message the team with the book's title.
- You have used all of your book uploads. Your lifetime allowance is used.
Removing an upload
Choose Remove upload in the book's menu in My Books. Your notes, highlights, place and chats stay either way.
- A private upload: its reading copy and Book Guide are deleted. To read it again, open the menu beside Add EPUB, choose the book under Restore a removed upload and upload the same file.
- An upload that matches a ManyNote Library book: the shared book stays, so you can keep reading it; it just stops being your upload.
Removing an upload does not give an upload back.
Privacy
Your uploads are private to you. Nobody else can see or open them, and their files are removed from a device when you sign out. To get a Book Guide for an upload, see Book Guide for your uploads.
