Getting started

ManyNote Reader is a free ebook reader for public-domain books, with a Book Guide you can talk to about what you are reading.

Read without an account

Choose Read free books on the home page, or ManyNote Library in the header, and open any book. No account is needed. As a guest:

• Your reading place, highlights, notes, starred and finished books, and appearance choices are saved on this device only. Your browser can clear them.
• My Books shows your books with the notice that they are kept on this device only.
• Uploading EPUBs, the Book Guide and character conversations, and messaging the team need an account. You can still ask ManyNote Help questions as a guest.

With an account

ManyNote is in early access. Choose Sign up for early access on the home page to create an account. An account lets you:

• keep your place, notes and saved Layouts and Themes in sync on every device where you sign in,
• talk with the Book Guide and with characters in a book,
• upload up to 10 EPUBs you own.

Opening a book

Select a book cover in the ManyNote Library or a book in My Books. The book opens where you left off. If this device has never opened the book, it waits a few seconds for your account's place to sync and otherwise starts at the beginning of the work.

If a book will not open, you may see:

• Sign in to open this book. The book belongs to an account. Sign in to continue.
• Book not available. The book may be private, removed, or the link is wrong.
• This book is not on this device. You are offline and the book was not downloaded. Connect to open it. See Reading offline.
• This browser cannot save your reading place or notes. Allow site storage for ManyNote in your browser settings and reload.
